book Expo admission fees The Lubbock Comic Book Expo is an event organized by the Lubbock Sketch Club, Star Books and Comics, Metropolis radio show KTXT FreeBirds World Burrito and the Science Spectrum of Lubbock. The mission of the expo is to build and cultivate a community of comic book artists by educating the general public about comic books, why comics are cool, how they're created, and by connecting the public with this growing west Texas comic book creators' community and giving creators the opportunity to share their work with an audience. |

According to Will Terrell, the founder of the Lubbock Sketch Club, Young at Art, and Comics in the Classroom, whose professional credits include The Goblin Chronicles, and colorist on Disney's Gargoyles comic book series, “Our intention is to lay the foundation over the next five years for a thriving creators' community while creating a marketplace to support them." The Sketch Club believes serving the community is a priority. This is evident in the groups "young at art" after school drawing program - and comics in the classroom community outreach - where professionals travel to local schools to speak about being a professional artist. "We have a desire to provide opportunities for young artists to use their talents and lives to their fullest potential." Says Mr. Terrell. But the success of events like the Comic Book Expo depends on sponsors like you. We understand though that not everyone will be able to provide monetary contributions. Resources, services and product donations are also very important and appreciated. If you are interested
in contributing in any way to the success of Lubbock's first comic book
convention, please contact us at sketchclub@gmail.com.
