About Us

"The SketchClub is an artists group for cartoonists, illustrators and comic book artists that meets every Saturday night from 7-10 pm at Freebirds World Burrito (4930 South Loop 289, Suite 250) to draw and hang out.

The club is free to join, and artists of all skill levels are welcome. Its the perfect opportunity to draw inspiration from a wide variety of talent in one group.

The Sketch Club mission is to enable artists to reach their fullest potential artistically and spiritually, to use their lives and talents to make the world a better place, and inspire others to do the same."

Suzan G. Komen fundraiser Friday Oct 2nd

The SketchClub is doing a special event in October as a fundraiser for the Susan G. Freebirds “Party on the Patio!”

The Sketch Club will be sketch night at the Party on the Patio at our freebirds at 4930 s Loop 289 in Lubbock on July 19th from 1-5pm.  Come Join us!  There will be a Live Band “Blindfold Charlie”, Race Cars good food and lots of fun!

Texas Tech Daily Toreador newspaper article

The SketchClub had an article in the University newspaper yesterday. The article is online for anyone interested in reading it. My biggest thanks to Sarah for writing the article for us. I spoke to her class a few months back and she contacted me recently for the interview.

We were SPOTTED!

The Lubbock SketchClub was SPOTTED last night on the First Friday art trail at the Stray Dog Gallery.
I hope everyone had fun last night, I know I did!  Thank you to Jennifer Adkins and everyone that helped organize the event.  I think all our guests had a great time.
